Material Handler

Our Stoney Creek client is seeking a Material Handler to join their team.  This position is responsible to complete customer orders, receive incoming shipments, re-stock inventory, pack and load orders for shipment and complete all necessary documents. Computer literacy and attention to details is required.

Responsibilities

Ø  Retrieve and prepare products and materials according to customer order specifications, using computer systems or paper documentation

Ø  Assemble orders to completion, tag/label items, prepare them for shipment, and ensure all related documentation is accurate and properly filed.

Ø  Adhere to the daily delivery schedule by picking and completing orders on time and organizing them in the correct sequence for efficient loading.

Ø  Load delivery trucks in the proper sequence to optimize delivery routes. Ensure all loaded products and materials are secured safely before vehicle movement.

Ø  Unload trucks upon arrival, verify and complete all associated documentation, restock inventory, and confirm the accuracy of products and materials against labels, bins, shelving, or storage locations. Address any discrepancies or errors as needed.

Ø  Conduct daily equipment checks, including pre-start and maintenance inspections, and promptly report any mechanical or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Ø  Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and storage yard. Ensure all products, materials, and machinery are stored and handled safely.

Ø  Actively participate in and support the Company Health and Safety Program, including completing required training and adhering to all health and safety guidelines.

Ø  Take part in warehouse physical inventory counts.

Ø  Assist customers at the warehouse sales counter as needed

Requirements

Ø  At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably with experience operating mechanical equipment. Familiarity with mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings is considered an asset.

Ø  Proven experience with loading and unloading pipes using a forklift.

Ø  Valid forklift certification (CB).

Ø  Secondary school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ø  Physically capable of performing tasks that require walking, lifting, and climbing.

Ø  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ø  Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.

Ø  Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.
