BILINGUAL COMMUNICATIONS & PR SPECIALIST

MARKHAM, ON

The Bilingual Communications and PR Specialist is responsible for shaping and maintaining the company's public image by creating and executing PR strategies. This position involves collaborating with internal teams, managing media relations, coordinating public events, and overseeing communication materials to ensure consistent brand messaging and positive public awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Ø  Develop and execute PR campaigns and strategies.

Ø  Write, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.

Ø  Collaborate with marketing and sales to integrate PR efforts with branding initiatives.

Ø  Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and sentiment.

Ø  Coordinate PR events (press events, exhibitions, tours) and serve as the company spokesperson.

Ø  Cultivate relationships with journalists, influencers, and media stakeholders.

Ø  Manage PR agency activities and evaluate agency performance annually.

Ø  Prepare media activity reports and present marketing budgets and ROI to management.

Ø  Handle crisis communication strategies and support senior management in public speaking and media interactions.

Ø  Leverage data analytics and business intelligence to enhance communication efforts.

Ø  This role requires strong communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills to effectively manage the company's public relations and maintain its positive reputation.

Education & Experience:

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field.

Ø  3+ years of experience as a Communications and PR Specialist or similar role.

Ø  Proven expertise in media relations, writing, editing, and publication management.

Technical Skills:

Ø  Proficiency in MS Office, social media, and digital platforms.

Ø  Familiarity with project management software and video/photo editing tools is a plus.

Languages:

Ø  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Key Competencies:

Ø  Deep understanding of PR and marketing strategies with a track record of executing effective communication plans.

Ø  Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ø  Creativity and strategic thinking for designing impactful PR campaigns.

Ø  Interpersonal skills for fostering relationships with media, influencers, and stakeholders.

Ø  Problem-solving capabilities for managing crises and safeguarding the company’s reputation.

Other Requirements:

Ø  Stay updated on the latest trends in media and communication technologies.

Ø  Collaborative team player able to work with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, product development).

Ø  Professional appearance and demeanor for vendor and retail partner interactions.

Ø  Flexibility with work hours, including occasional overtime, and the ability to stand for extended periods or lift up to 30 lbs.

Ø  Must possess a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and the willingness to travel for events and meetings.

Ø  This role demands a dynamic, resourceful individual with a passion for effective communication and relationship-building.
